Biography

As “Goodwill Ambassador” for all things San Diego, Sam “Diego” Mejia has become a regular at major events, festivals and parades and on local television and morning news shows. He devotes much of his time to supporting local charities with his event coordination and media relations talents.  To some, he is better known as Captain Sam Diego. The infamous, yet charming pirate who brings good cheer, if not fun to any occasion. The good captain can be found delivering motivational messages to groups of all ages. He even has his own inspirational column called Pirate Zen.
