1. Why can I hear you in one area of East County and not another?
My 107.9 FM is a LP (Low Power) radio station. Our signal to you is
dependent on terrain and distance. Because it is FM, our signal is
line-of-sight.
Additionally, we are required by federal law to protect a Mexican station on the same
frequency.
2. What changes are taking place at the station?
Our goal is to provide a LOCAL radio station for every resident and business
here in East County. We are striving to be a community partner by providing weather, traffic,
news, sports and local events as well as music to our audience.
3. How does My 107.9 FM operate?
KRLY, “MY 107.9 FM” is a Public Benefit Corporation, a 501C-3.
Our operating funds come from a combination of merchant and listener support as a
form of underwriting. This is one of the reasons
that our underwriting messages does not contain “a call to action”.
Our messages are restricted to just facts, much the same as public broadcasting.
